We provided a full grid at Forest Edge and had brought some lovely weather along with us. With points to score and the chance to don the coveted 210 ‘0’ plate for the rest of the season we would see some very close and competitive racing. It was great to see Dan Bury proudly showing off his ‘E’ plate won at the Superprix three weeks previously. We would like to thank Rob Dodds and the Forest Edge Kart club committee for arranging such a wonderful and efficient event and provide the prize of Moet and Chandon Champagne, and the marshals and officials for their support throughout the event.
A big thank you to Graham Payne for writing this report and providing the photos.
In the final Lionel Sifleet was on Pole with Rob Perkins making up the front row and Dan Bury and Chris Callaghan on row 2. As the lights went out Lionel Sifleet took the lead with the rest of the pack close behind. With Lionel pulling clear the battle behind between Rob Perkins and Dan Bury was intense with only 0.3s separating them at the finish. Behind Thomas Stone and Chris Callaghan were also battling hard with them swapping places on Lap 2 and lap 6 with Thomas coming home in front. Paul Fowler and Tony Bury behind, charged through the field finishing behind the battling pair of Stone and Callaghan and Mark Shepheard, Tony Cox, Michael Owen and the top novice, Oliver Shelley finished out the top runners in a highly competitive, closely fought final. Unfortunately, during post-race scrutineering both Lionel Sifleet and Thomas Stone was disqualified resulting in Rob Perkins becoming the 2024 MSUK O Plate Champion.
