A decent grid of drivers entered for Fulbeck and as the meeting was fairly quiet 8 mins plus a lap for the three heats and a 10 min plus a lap for the final was the order of the day. Windy and wet conditions greeted Saturdays practice with fairer weather for race day. It was great to see Rob Perkins and Dan Bury racing using their recently acquired coveted ‘0’ and ‘E’ plates.
Heat 1 was led from start to finish by Perkins. Although he wasn’t without constant pressure from Sifleet and D. Bury. Sifleet did the hassling for the first six laps until a little over exuberance sent him spinning to 3rd place. D. Bury then took over in 2nd but try as he might to pass, Perkins held his line.
1st Perkins, 2nd D. Bury, 3rd Sifleet, 4th Stone, 5th Callaghan, 6th Hopes

It was D. Bury’s turn to lead heat 2 from start to finish and by lap 8 he’d pulled out a considerable lead from Sifleet. Callaghan spun at the first corner and in the attempt to miss him Perkins also went off. Stone gave chase to D. Bury followed by Hopes, Fowler, Sifleet and Henry. By lap 5 Sifleet had clinched 2nd place, Fowler has passed Hopes for 3rd and Henry spun on the start line allowing his Father in law Masson to take up 6th spot for a lap until Henry grabbed the place back. As the flag fell D. Bury came in 1st, Sifleet 2nd, Fowler 3rd,Henry only just 4th by 0.0.10 as Callaghan had worked his way after his off to claim 5th, Masson 6th.

Heat 3 saw D. Bury take his second win of the day. By lap 4 Bury and Callaghan in 2nd had quite a gap between them and Stone 3rd. Perkins 4th, now having had his chassis welded together after his excursion in heat 2, Fowler 5th and Masson 6th On lap 6 Stone was flying and caught Callaghan and passed him for 2nd. Perkins followed through on the next lap. Stone and Perkins continued to dice for position and on lap 9 Fowler was up to 4th.As D. Bury crossed the line in 1st with Perkins in 2nd, Stone coasted to a standstill only yards from the line, although no consolation he was awarded 6th place. Callaghan came in 4th, Caddick (N) who’d worked his way through the field from the rear of the grid 5th and Stone 6th.

The Final: It was Perkins who led the first lap after D. Bury had overcooked it on the corner of sector 3 the aftermath left Sifleet with a very flattened tyre and Caddick and D. Bury at the rear of the field. Stone was sitting pretty in 2nd Fowler 3rd, Callaghan 4th Sloane and Henry 5th and 6th. By lap 3 Perkins was out, his Fulbeck nemesis had struck again. Stone not having endured a good day so far took up the lead now followed by Callaghan, Henry and D. Bury who with red mist filling his helmet had worked his way through the field. On lap 7 Hopes was up to 5th with Sloane not far behind. Stone was on fire and wasn’t going to let this race defeat him. He came in victorious winning his first ever final and lapping all but three drivers. Callaghan who confidently kept a charging D. Bury behind him in 2nd, D. Bury 3rd, Fowler out on his own 4th. Hopes (glad he’d entered) 5th T. Bury 6th Masson 7th ,Caddick (N) 8th, Sloane 9th and Shepheard completing the top ten.
