Newsletter – Shenington Final Round
As we went into the last round of 2026, Dan Bury had clinched the title, barring any disaster resulting in an exclusion, which was unlikely. Seeded positions 2–4 were up for grabs between Stone, Morris and Henry, leaving seeded positions 5–10 open. Competitors just needed good, reliable finishes, as most had managed throughout the season. The weather was on the chilly side, but there was no rain to contend with.

Heat 1:
Stone led the pack for four laps in Heat 1 until Morris took over at the front. Sifleet and Bury were in the mix, with Sifleet demoting Stone to 3rd on lap 6. Henry had a sedate race out on his own. On lap 7, Morris slowed quite dramatically along the Stratford Straight, and Sifleet, Stone and Bury followed suit, leaving us spectators looking for a full-course yellow – we had become so used to Morris clearing off into the distance. They rounded the Stratford Hairpin, only for Morris to pull off to the side with a belt problem. Sifleet then led, with Stone chasing hard in 2nd having stormed passed Bury into the Bruno Chicane on the next lap. Hutton and Sloane had a race of their own for 5th spot. 1st Sifleet, 2nd Stone, 3rd Bury, 4th Henry, 5th Hutton, 6th Sloane

Heat 2:
It took 2 laps for Morris to take control of the race. Lap 7 saw Morris ahead of 2nd place Sifleet by the length of the Stratford Straight, Stone dived past Bury for 3rd into Brunos and Shelley who had been making inroads on Henry claimed 5th. These latter 2 put on a good show of how to dice safely but it was Shelley who just had the edge to eventually claim 5th. Sifleet was docked 2 places for a jump start so the final result were 1st Morris, 2nd Stone, 3rd Bury, 4th Sifleet, 5th Shelley, 6th Henry.
Heat 3:
The finish order for heat 3 was settled by lap 3. Morris took the lead from Sifleet, Stone, Bury, Henry, Shelley and the rest. Three drivers had jumped the start therefore receiving a 2 place penalty. One of these was Sifleet so the final result saw Stone and Bury promoted. 1st Morris, 2nd Stone, 3rd Bury, 4th Sifleet, 5th Henry, 6th Shelley.

Final:
This race marked a first for Stone, who had secured pole position. As the drivers lined up on the grid for the second time, Shelley stalled. In a display of the sportsmanship for which so many drivers are known, Sloane held back to give him a bump start. When the lights changed, Sifleet made the best start from the front row, followed by Morris, Stone, Bury, Henry, T. Bury and Shelley. It took Morris until half distance to pass Sifleet for the lead, with Sifleet making a sterling effort to keep him at bay. The battle at the front made for exciting viewing: lap after lap, Morris tried to pass around Stratford Hairpin, before the pair spent several laps seemingly side by side into Brunos. Further down the field, everyone held position apart from on lap 4, when Shelley passed T. Bury to claim 6th. As the chequered flag fell for the final time this season, Morris took victory, followed by Sifleet in 2nd, Stone 3rd Bury 4th, Henry 5th, Shelley in 6th, Fowler 7th, Hutton 8th T. Bury 9th, with Myles (N) completing the top 10.

Huge Congratulations to Dan Bury
