The Conclusion to the most competitive and close battle we’ve seen in 40 years of the 210 Challenge. What a cracking season.

As we went into the final round, four drivers, A. Sifleet, L. Sifleet, D. Bury and Perkins only had 18 points separating them and anyone of them could go home with the title of 2022 Challenge Champion. In the heats A. Sifleet achieved a win, 4th and 3rd, L. Sifleet a 3rd and two wins, D. Bury three 2nd ‘s and Perkins a 5th 3rd and a 4th, not helped by him being taken off at Café during heat 3 and ending up in the tyres. With the lowest scoring round to be dropped when they entered the final the odds were in favour of L. Sifleet and D. Bury, but still all top 4 seeded numbers were up for grabs. Disaster befell A. Sifleet at Café on the first lap as he was sidelined and unable to continue to defend his honour. L. Sifleet took the lead eandeavouring to claim a hat trick of 3 championship wins in a row. D. Bury and Perkins had a great dice behind and lap 4 saw Perkins take Bury to claim 2nd. If anything should happen to L. Sifleet Perkins would achieve the 2nd spot with the title automatically going to D. Bury. As the flag fell on the last race of the season L. Sifleet came in victorious, Perkins 2nd, D. Bury 3rd. This all meant L. Sifleet was now 210 Challenge Champion seeded No.1, D. Bury No. 2  missing out by just one point!!!! Perkins No.3 and A. Sifleet No.4

Henry, Hancock, Rawden and Stone have had some great races during the season all progressing steadily up the leader board, Henry received points in the heats for 6th, 5th and a 6th positions, Hancock 10th, 8th and 9th, Stone DNF, 9th and 6th, whilst Rawden who began the season as a Novice managed a 4th, 6th and 15th but was unfortunately hampered by noise issues all day. The final saw Henry, Stone and Hancock staying well out of trouble and driving a great race to finish one behind the other. Henry had now secured his seeded No. 5 and Hancock No. 6 Rawden succumbed once again to noise problems and was shown the mechanical flag which put pay to his race. This now left Stone and Rawden on equal points. With the tie being resolved Rawden just clinched the seeded No. 7 and an elated Stone No.8.

Fowler after a dismal day with a bent and cracked chassis, unfortunately was displaced from the top ten seeded numbers by T. Bury and Sloane. T. Bury hadn’t fared much better than Fowler and had a spectacular off at the Chicane with brake failure but finishes the year with No. 9. Sloane who’d scored well in all four races once again achieved the No.10.

Shepheard who has gone from strength to strength finishes in 12th and had a good race with Smith, Skull, Owen, Hutton and Shelley throughout the day.  Not all drivers were able to complete a full season but with them it certainly swelled the ranks to make exciting racing midfield. the Shepheard, Hopes and Cox who were unable to race turned up for the weekend to give help where they could which was very much appreciated.
