A decent grid of 210’s graced the Gearbox Festival at Fulbeck, not only to contest round 5 but also the infamous ‘Bake Off’ we are renowned for. Weather would be just right for racing and all races were live streamed for this event. It’s a very good watch with great commentary. You can find it on https://youtube.com/live/MLy6d9MdxiI?si=Zka2wsQik54Hdgkp entitled Fulbeck Gear Fest 2025 and FKC Rnd 6 – LIVE! Heats programmed for 8 minutes plus a lap and 10 minutes plus a lap for the final.

Saturday – A huge thank you to all 210 drivers and mechanics for their wonderfully tasty cakes and biscuits they provided. We can’t forget the token input from the 250  and KZ drivers. It was Stuart Henry who won the 210 Bake Off having observed every rule laid down for the competition. We raised an astonishing £822.00 for the Air Ambulance.

Heat 1. 1.01.00 It was a disastrous start for some, T. Bury who after a coming together on the rolling start catapulted into the middle of the track!! Shepheard and Caddick had a coming together on the way to the Bus Stop. Stone had a great start from Henry, Sifleet, Hopes and D. Bury. Stone took control at the front for 8 laps with Sifleet attempting to catch him and pass. Lap 8 saw Stone sidelined at the end of the Straight (turn 1) as to why, the jury is still out on that one. The local farmer was caught on camera spreading horse sh1t which summed Stones race up beautifully!! Sifleet took over at the front, D. Bury took advantage of back markers to close up on the leader. Sifleet only just took the win with a clearance from D. Bury by 00.34, R. Perkins 3rd, Henry 4th, J. Perkins 5th with Hancock in 6th.

Heat 2 – 2.41.00. By the end of the first lap D. Bury and R. Perkins had broken away as a pair from the field, giving us some really close action to watch. Sifleet, Henry, Stone and T. Bury just couldn’t catch them up. All the action was seen on lap 4 R. Perkins using a tin opener passed D. Bury to claim the lead on the first corner, Stone passed Henry and Hopes passed T. Bury. 1st R. Perkins, 2nd D. Bury, 3rd Sifleet, 4th Stone, 5th Henry, Hopes 6th.

Heat 3 – 4:49.00 Sifleet took the early lead and for 4 laps he was severely hassled by R. Perkins and D. Bury. The top 3 had pulled away from Stone in 4th Hopes 5th and J. Perkins (N) in 6th. Lap 5 saw Perkins pass Sifleet taking an outside line around caravan corner. On the very next lap D. Bury made a copycat move to secure 2nd and give chase to R. Perkins. Meanwhile Stone was getting ever closer to the top three and by lap 7 was in a position to make an attempt on Sifleet. Lap 9 with back markers coming into play saw Stone and Owen had a coming together which allowed Sifleet to pull away. With orange mist and the farmer still spreading his **** Stone couldn’t believe his luck when he saw Sifleet tangled up with a back marker on entering turn 7. Stone was passed but Sifleet having none of it retook his 3rd place back along the start straight. By now R. Perkins and D. Bury were well out in front. R. Perkins took his 2nd win of the day, D. Bury 2nd, Sifleet only just 3rd with Stone 00.17 behind having secured the fastest lap for the heat, J. Perkins came in 5th with Henry a very credible 6th having spun just after the start having to fight his way back from the rear of the field.

Final –  6: 25:00 With two wins under his belt R. Perkins hosted pole alongside Sifleet with D. Bury and Henry on the row behind. As the field entered the track for a two lap warm up Stone was seen stationary in the pits. Two of our best mechanics got him going and holding his fuel pipe he began the race at the rear. (where was that farmer?) As the lights changed to green R. Perkins who headed the chasing field into the first corner took command of the race in style. Although the 210 train of the top three continued as it had done all day try as they might Sifleet and D. Bury couldn’t find a way past and would have to settle for 2nd and 3rd respectively. R. Perkins had definitely seen the back of any Fulbeck curse he’d had for years. Henry 4th place, whilst J. Perkins our Novice of the day in 5th place unfortunately had mechanical issues on lap 11 which saw him miss out on vital points. Considering he starts all the heats at the rear of the grid he always has an excellent grid position in the final. Hopes with the absence of

R. Perkins finished 5th. Stone, considering a day he’d had took the 6th spot. Hancock 7th. T. Bury 8th with Sloane in 9th. A great watch.

Congratulations

Rob Perkins
