A very acceptable grid rocked up at Fulbeck for round 3 which was also round 2 of the Supa 60’s. Race day began well with a huge compliment from the Clerk at drivers briefing his words being ‘If you want to see respect just look at the 210’s’ A very proud moment. We then went on to have a group photo including all officials and Marshalls. Laps of 8 mins + a lap and a 10 min + a lap final was decided upon. The lap record currently stood at 44.96 set by Dan Bury in Sept 2021!

Heat 2 and D. Bury led from the start to finish by quite a large margin. L. Sifleet held onto 2nd place until his son A. Sifleet who’d started from the back demoted him to 3rd place by lap 7. Lap 3 saw a huge spin from Fowler just after Pits Bend which saw some great avoidance skills from Hancock (who ended up travelling along the grass) T. Bury and Perkins. Stone fended off any advances from Henry but was unaware of Perkins who’d opted to start at the back (having experienced problems in heat 1) he split the fighting pair on lap 7 but took nearly 2 laps to pass Stone. 1st D. Bury, 2nd A.Sifleet, 3rd L. Sifleet, 4th Perkins, 5th Stone, 6th Henry.

Final – No surprises to see A. Sifleet and D. Bury hosting the front row. As the lights changed for the last rolling start of the day it was D. Bury who lead the chasing pack into the first corner. A. Sifleet was 2nd, L. Sifleet 3rd, Perkins, 4th Fowler 5th and Henry 6th. By lap 3 Rawden (N) had made up 3 places and was up to 5th. Lap 4 saw Perkins pass L. Sifleet into turn one. Henry in 6th was still keeping Stone at bay with Hancock hot on his heels. On lap 5 A. Sifleet was passed D. Bury with the later not giving up and hassling to get the win. Mid race distance continued to see a very close battle between Henry, Hancock and Stone, it would all change before the race was over. Lap 9 saw L. Sifleet pull off into Parc Ferme handing Rawden and those behind a one place boost up the finishing order! As the flag fell A. Sifleet came in victorious, D. Bury had to settle for 2nd after many attempts to claim back his lap record. BUT it was Perkins in 3rd that triumphantly broke the record, which made up for a frustrating weekend. Rawden had a well-deserved 4
th as did Hanock in 5th, Stone 6th, Henry 7th, T. Bury 8th, Woodward 9th and Sloane completing the top 10. Rawden took home 2 trophies also winning Novice of the day.

Congratulations to Rob Perkins for his lap time of 44.58 and who now currently holds the record.

Heat 1 The first two laps saw Hancock lead the pack. D.Bury then took over and valiantly fended off a charging A.Sifleet for a further 5 laps. By lap 6 L. Sifleet was in 3rd, Fowler 4th, Hancock 5th and Henry in 6th. It remained very close at the front with the top two the length of the Start Straight in front of 3rd place man. As the flag dropped A.Sifleet not only came in first but he claimed the lap record of 44.67.

D. Bury 2nd, L. Sifleet 3rd, Fowler who’d recovered from a spectacular spin just after the last corner but luckily kept his position of 4th, Hancock 5th, Henry 6th.

Heat 3 – A. Sifleet led from D. Bury for the entire race with D. Bury doing his utmost to catch a flying Sifleet on a mission. They would finish once again the length of the Start Straight from 3rd place man. On lap 3 Perkins in 5th went all out to pass L. Sifleet into pits bend to claim 4th, how they didn’t come together was expertly avoided, as Sifleet quite firmly shut the door. Fowler valiantly protected his 3rd place until lap 5 when L. Sifleet claimed 3rd and Perkins would follow through a few laps later. Novice Rawden had worked his way through the field to finish 6th. 1st A. Sifleet, 2nd D. Bury, 3rd L. Sifleet, 4th Perkins, 5th Fowler, 6th Rawden (N)
